A Dixmoor trustee again is in police custody, this time for a domestic incident in which a woman in her 60s was injured, a village spokesman said Thursday.
Trustee Michael Smith, 23, was arrested after an incident that “appears to be domestic in nature,” Sean Howard said.
He said the woman was taken for treatment to Ingalls Memorial Hospital in Harvey.
Smith was indicted last month on three counts of official misconduct, two counts of forgery and two counts of theft, according to court records and police.
Police Chief Lanell Gilbert said Smith impersonated a village police officer to be able to put $15 worth of gas in his car at a Harvey gas station in April 2011.
Smith, elected to the village board at 18, also was arrested in 2011 outside his grandmother’s house in Dixmoor and charged with resisting arrest and driving without a valid license.
