No one was hurt but an Alsip home is temporarily uninhabitable after a Thursday afternoon fire in the 4200 block of West 126th Street, Alsip Fire Chief Tom Styczynski said.
A resident was home when the fire broke out but got out of the house and was waiting outside when firefighters arrived, Styczynski said.
Damage was contained to the living room area, Styczynski said. Damage near the chimney was visible, but Styczynski said the cause of the fire was under investigation.
