An autopsy Tuesday determined that an Oak Lawn man died Monday morning from a head injury from a fall, after he was found unconscious at the door of his house.
Terrence Reichert, 51, died at 10:29 a.m. at Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office.
It said the autopsy determined that his death was an accident and that alcohol intoxication and hypothermia were contributing factors in his death.
On Sunday, Reichert’s family was searching for answers, believing that he had been attacked and wondering about who may have done it and why. On Tuesday, they declined to comment on the autopsy results.
Police said Reichert shot pool until about 1 a.m. Wednesday at a Hometown bar, and one of his brothers drove him to his home in the 11000 block of Komensky Avenue. Reichert’s girlfriend found him lying unconscious at his front door about five hours later, another brother said.
He said Reichert was taken to Christ Medical Center and later had a series of strokes that led to emergency brain surgery.
