A Burbank woman who had won a few small lottery prizes wasn’t sure what had happened when she scanned a Lucky Day Lotto ticket while grocery shopping and the screen told her to “file a claim.”
“I’d never seen that before,” Debra Dickover said, according to a news release from the Illinois Lottery, “so I took my ticket to the clerk to see if she could let me know what was going on.”
Dickover had won $162,500, matching all five numbers — 3, 6, 19, 33 and 35 — in the Feb. 8 Lucky Day Lotto drawing, the lottery said.
“I started crying because I was so happy,” Dickover said, according to the release.
Dickover and her husband, Rich, plan to use the money to pay down their mortgage, remodel their house, and make Debra’s next birthday extra special with a trip to Hawaii, the lottery said.
The winning ticket was bought at a Speedway gas station in Willowbrook.
