Bail was set at $300,000 for a man who allegedly stuck a handgun up against a woman’s ribcage and robbed her last week in a Ford Heights gas station parking lot, police said.
Montez Fulwiley, 21, was arrested Sunday in Hazel Crest after an investigation of the Feb. 22 incident, according to a news release from the Cook County Sheriff’s office.
Fulwiley was charged with armed robbery and vehicular invasion when he appeared Wednesday in bond court in Markham, the sheriff’s office said.
About 9 p.m. Feb. 22, the 23-year-old woman was getting into her car at a gas station at 1620 E. Lincoln Highway when a man approached her. She was about to shut the car door when the man pulled it open and pointed a silver handgun at her, police said.
The man pressed the gun to the woman’s ribcage and demanded her phone, police said. He then took her purse while keeping the gun pressed against her, police said. After telling the victim to drive away and not say anything, the man drove out of the gas station lot, police said.
Fulwiley is next due in court March 20 in Markham.
