A 22-year-old man and a 16-year-old boy are facing felony charges after breaking into a Park Forest woman’s home and sexually assaulting her Thursday, police said.
James Romaine, of the 400 block of Tomahawk Street in Park Forest, and the teen, of the 200 block of Mantua Street in Park Forest, were charged with aggravated sexual assault and home invasion on Saturday, police said.
Additional charges are pending and they are expected to appear for their bail hearings Monday at the Cook County Criminal Courts building in Chicago, police said.
According to police, officers arrived at the intersection of Somonauk Street and Shabbona Drive at 10:30 p.m. Feb. 28 after a report of a loose dog. While investigating, police found an empty house that had been burglarized in the 300 block of Somonauk Street.
A woman ran up to the house while the officers were there, police said. She said she owned the house and had come home earlier when the man and the teen — one carrying a gun — confronted her from within the house.
The two battered and sexually assaulted her during the confrontation and then put her in her car and drove her away from the house, police said. She was released two blocks from her house and she ran home.
Police said the two men fled and they were arrested Friday.
