Police are looking for a Rich Township man suspected of severely beating and stabbing his mother Monday and dumping her in a ditch before driving off.
Blake Springsteen, 22, attacked his 46-year-old mother at their house in the 3600 block of Flossmoor Road, beating and binding her before placing her in the trunk of a car, Cook County sheriff’s police said.
Springsteen then drove with her to Crete, where he stabbed her multiple times before leaving her in a ditch in the 900 block of Columbia Street, according to police.
The woman remained hospitalized in stable condition as of Tuesday.
Sheriff’s police said police on Monday recovered in Flossmoor the car believed to have been used by Springsteen.
Sheriff’s police advise the public not to approach Springsteen, but if anyone has information on his whereabouts they should call 911 or (847) 635-1188.
He is described as about 6 feet tall and 240 pounds.
