Discover Tinley Expo is Saturday

Updated: April 21, 2013 6:20AM

The annual Discover Tinley Community Awareness Expo will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the Tinley Park Convention Center.

There will be more than 150 booths featuring information about Tinley Park businesses, nonprofit organizations and government services. Admission is free.

The event also will feature food samples, giveaways at many booths and live entertainment, including Mr. D’s Magic Show, face painting, a model train display, a performance by TnT Extreme Dance and a martial arts demonstration.

Trustee Tom Staunton Jr., the village board’s liaison to the Tinley Park Community Resources Commission, said the expo is a “great way for area businesses and organizations to showcase the services they provide to Tinley Park residents.”

The Illinois Fallen Heroes Traveling Memorial Wall, which honors those who lost their lives in Afghanistan and Iraq, will be on display.
