Two men who were questioned by police in connection with Saturday’s stabbing death of a Chicago Heights man were released after the Cook County State’s Attorney’s office declined to approve felony charges against them, police said.
Levar Stepney, 35, of the 19400 block of Glenwood Road, was found in his apartment at 2:40 p.m. with multiple stab wounds, police said.
He was pronounced dead on the scene, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office, which said Stepney also had signs of head trauma.
Multiple witnesses were interviewed and the two men were taken into custody but were later released.
