Bail was set Thursday at $500,000 for a Stickney Township man who’s accused of abducting and sexually assaulting a female acquaintance in his home on March 15, according to Cook County sheriff’s police.
Giovanni Casterjon, 20, is charged with aggravated criminal sexual assault and aggravated domestic battery, both felonies, police said.
They said Casterjon forced the 22-year-old woman into the car he was driving in Tinley Park and took her to his house in the 7000 block of West 71st Street, where he beat and choked her and forced her to perform sexual acts.
Casterjon told her she had to stay with him until her bruises healed, and the woman remained at his house March 16 and 17, fearing for her life, according to police.
They said that on March 18, she persuaded Casterjon to return her cellphone and shoes, and when he left the house she phoned a friend, who picked her up and they reported the abduction to police.
Chicago police the next day apprehended Casterjon, who was driving the woman’s stolen vehicle, police said.
