Oak Forest residents and business owners who experienced flood damage during recent storms — including damage from backed-up sewers — have until noon Friday to submit forms seeking financial aid.
They are asked to complete a form on the city’s website, www.oak-forest.org, to report details of their losses.
Information will be used by the state to apply for federal aid. There is no guarantee that supplying information will result in aid.
Paper copies of the form are available from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the city clerk’s office at city hall, 15440 S. Central Ave.
Anyone with flood-damaged items can place them on the parkway on their regularly scheduled garbage collection day to be taken by NuWay Disposal.
Electronics items will not be taken. Those can be dropped off at the Bremen Township offices, 15350 S. Oak Park Ave., or the Bremen Township Highway Department, 16361 S. Kedzie Ave., from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Mondays through Fridays. Bremen Township, however, will not take damaged TV sets.
