A former employee of a Monee hotel who was accused of sexually assaulting a guest last month is wanted by authorities again after he skipped his court date Monday in Joliet.
Dipeshkumar S. Shah, 34, of 8440 Harlem Ave., Bridgeview, has been indicted by a Will County grand jury on two counts of home invasion and one count of criminal sexual assault.
Shah was scheduled to be arraigned on the charges Monday, but Judge Robert Livas issued a no-bond warrant for his arrest when he failed to appear in court.
Shah was arrested by Monee police June 13 after he allegedly hid in a guest’s room and then assaulted her, authorities said.
That day, Shah, who worked at a hotel in the 25600 block of Friendship Drive, went into the room of a woman who had been staying there and waited for her to return, authorities said. When she came to her room, he bit and hit her, then sexually assaulted her, authorities said.
Monee police were pounding on her door before the attack was over, but the door was too heavy to break down, authorities said.
Shah was arrested minutes later when he left the room.
The woman was taken to a hospital for treatment. The extent of her injuries was not known.
