Manhattan Fun Day is Monday

Free family entertainment will be the order of the day Monday for Manhattan’s Labor Day Fun Day.
The event will kick off with a Fairy Tale parade at 11 a.m., followed by games and activities at Central Park, at Wabash Street and McClure Avenue, from noon to 5 p.m. Food and refreshments will be for sale.
Senior parking and shuttle service are available at the Manhattan Fire Department.
Activities include caboose tours and softball games; a bike-decorating contest from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m.; a bags tournament, with registration from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m.; a children’s pedal tractor pull at 1:30 p.m. and:
Waterball from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m.
A youth rugby clinic and bingo will be held from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. A battle of the bands for 13- to 18-year-olds is from 3 to 5 p.m. Capping the day’s festivities will be a fireworks display at 8 p.m.
