A Tinley Park townhouse was left uninhabitable after a fire Wednesday night, Tinley Park Fire Chief Kenneth Dunn said Thursday.
The fire department responded to a fire shortly before 10 p.m. at the townhouse in the 6800 block of Brementowne Road, and when firefighters arrived, there was “heavy fire showing” from the second floor of the unit, Dunn said.
The family living there were outside the building when firefighters arrived, he said.
It took firefighters about 30 minutes to extinguish the blaze, and adjacent townhome units were not damaged, Dunn said.
The second floor of the townhome sustained “heavy fire damage,” and there was smoke and water damage to the first floor, rendering it uninhabitable, the chief said.
There were no injuries and the cause of the fire has not yet been determined, Dunn said.
