Two teenagers have been charged with battery after an Oak Lawn police investigation of a wild brawl last month between two groups of teens at the Wolfe Wildlife Refuge, 107th Street and Laramie Avenue.
The brawl, which broke out about 9:30 p.m. Aug. 14, was between a group of five white teens and one with six black youths, police said. They said there are differing accounts of how the fighting started, and police are calling it “undecided.”
Several teens were injured, none seriously, and some received medical care, according to police, who said one teen was thrown into Stony Creek during the fight.
After Cook County prosecutors reviewed the police reports, Stephen Hyde, 18, of 10721 Lawler Ave., Oak Lawn, and Hexadore Randall, 19, of 5414 N. Western Ave., Chicago, were charged with battery, police said.
