Pet hospital opens in Matteson

The nation’s largest veterinary practice is opening a pet hospital Saturday in Matteson.
Banfield Pet Hospital’s grand opening will feature contests, giveaways, “ask-the-vet” sessions and tours of the facility, 4824 U.S 30, and 20 percent of opening weekend revenue will be donated to the Animal Welfare League.
The hospital will offer preventive care that includes annual examinations, vaccinations, nutrition counseling, prescriptions and surgery.
Portland, Ore.-based Banfield has more than 830 hospitals across the country, most of them in Petsmart stores as is the case in Matteson.
The Matteson hospital will be open 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday. Drop-off hours begin at 7 a.m. Monday through Saturday and 9 a.m. on Sunday.
