Woodland Carols to benefit food pantry

Updated: January 14, 2014 1:16PM

Folks will sing for their supper and raise donations for the Rich Township Food Pantry Saturday at Thorn Creek Nature Center’s Woodland Carols event.

Area musicians will perform seasonal songs and carols from noon to 2 p.m. while participants savor all-you-can-eat homemade soups inside the nature center, 247 Monee Road, Park Forest, for $10 per person or a bag of groceries.

Grocery items needed by the pantry include non-perishable foods such as canned, boxed and dry goods, especially cereal; personal care products; disposable diapers for infants and adults; and quart and gallon-sized plastic food bags.

Call the nature center to make a reservation at (708) 747-6320.
