Police issue warning about burglaries in Tinley Park

Updated: February 10, 2014 11:21AM

The Tinley Park Police Department is investigating several daytime residential burglaries that have occurred in the village since Jan. 1, according to a news release from the village.

In each burglary, entry was gained to the residence by forcing open either a garage service door or a front door, the release said. Master bedrooms have been the target of the burglars, and jewelry, cash and small electronics have been taken, it said.

Vehicles used in the burglaries may include a white box truck, a silver pickup truck with a ladder protruding from the bed, and a dark-colored Toyota Corolla, the release said.

The Tinley Park Police Department is asking that residents immediately report any suspicious people, vehicles or activity by calling 911.

“If you see it, report it,” Tinley Park Police Chief Steve Neubauer said. “We are counting on our residents to be our eyes and ears and help us arrest whoever is committing these burglaries.”
