A Palos Hills man remained in custody Wednesday after the Tuesday morning stabbing of his wife and daughter at their home in the 9700 block of Maple Crest Drive, police said.
The woman suffered multiple stab wounds, and the 19-year-old daughter was stabbed once, police said.
Both were in stable condition Wednesday at Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, Deputy Police Chief Jeff Cucio said.
The investigation is ongoing, and police are working with the Cook County state’s attorney’s office. No charges had been filed as of Wednesday night, police said.
Police were called to the house about 10 a.m. Tuesday and found the woman and her daughter at a neighbor’s home, suffering from stab wounds, Cucio said.
He said police learned that the suspect, a truck driver, might be at a trucking yard in McCook, and they arrested him there about 1 p.m. Tuesday.
The man was taken to Little Company of Mary Hospital in Evergreen Park for a psychiatric evaluation, Cucio said.
