The Matteson Public Library will host a miniature golf fundraiser from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Jan. 25.
All ages are invited to play two nine-hole courses set up within the library, 801 S. School Ave., according to a press release from the library.
A $5 donation for adults and a $3 donation for children 12 and under will be collected at the time of entry. Proceeds will go toward the furnishings and equipment for the library’s new wing, for which groundbreaking is scheduled in the spring, the release said.
Players with the top scores, most hole-in-ones and lowest scores will be entered into drawings for prizes, according to the release. There also will be a silent auction, and concessions will be sold. The final tee time is 7 p.m.
The library will be open for regular business during the event, but patrons should expect a louder-than-usual atmosphere, the release said.

Drew School gets tenant
Space at the former Drew School in Summit Hill School District 161 has been leased to a Montessori preschool and elementary school. The new tenant will lease one classroom through June 9 and then will lease the media center through June, 2015, according to District 161.
The district closed Drew School, a first- through fourth-grade building at 20130 Rosewood Drive, in June 2012 as part of an effort to reduce a $2.5 million deficit.
The superintendent’s financial advisory group will formalize a three- to five-year building utilization plan, factoring in future student enrollment projections, reviewed school capacities, per capita costs, and maintenance to craft a clear picture of future needs, Supt. Barb Rains said in a press release from the district.
The district also works in partnership with the Frankfort Square Park District for use of the lunch room for the park district dance program and use of the gym for sports activities.
