A 16-year-old Ford Heights boy has been charged as an adult with killing another teenage boy this week in Ford Heights.
A Cook County judge on Friday ordered Paris Walker held without bail on first-degree murder charges in connection with the shooting death Wednesday night of Malik McMillan, according to the Cook County state’s attorney’s office.
Walker and McMillan, 17, got into an argument about 7:30 p.m. in the 1400 block of Ambassador Lane, and when McMillan tried to leave, Walker fired several shots that struck him, prosecutors said.
McMillan was pronounced dead at the scene at 8:07 p.m. according to the county medical examiner’s office.
Walker was arrested later that night by sheriff’s police, who provide police protection in Ford Heights, prosecutors said.
McMillan’s home address was unclear Friday. The medical examiner’s office gave his address as in the 16800 block of Shea Avenue in Hazel Crest but sheriff’s police said he resided in East Hazel Crest and the state’s attorney’s office said he was from Ford Heights.
