Authorities have released the identity of the Oak Forest resident who was killed Wednesday in a crash in Romeoville that involved a Pace bus.
Ahmad A. Bader, 67, was killed and three other people incurred minor injuries in a three-vehicle crash about 9:10 a.m. at Renwick Road and Rankin Drive, police and fire officials said.
They said Bader was driving a Kia Rio eastbound on Renwick Road and crossed into the westbound lanes, hitting the Pace bus head-on and then striking a Ford Fusion.
Bader had to be extricated from the car and was taken to St. Joseph Medical Center in Joliet, where he was pronounced dead at 12:09 p.m., according to the Will County coroner’s office. An autopsy Thursday found that Bader died of multiple injuries from the crash.
Three other people — the Ford driver, the driver of the Pace bus and a passenger from the Pace bus — were treated and released at St. Joseph, police said.
Romeoville police are investigating the cause of the crash.
