Officials at Palos Community Hospital refused to comment Thursday on a published report that the hospital’s chief executive officer no longer was employed there after only three months in the position.
Edgardo Tenreiro was named in October as president and CEO, starting Nov. 15. Tenreiro confirmed to chicagobusiness.com on Thursday that he no longer was employed at the Palos Heights hospital.
Tenreiro did not return calls seeking comment.
A hospital spokeswoman declined to comment on Tenreiro’s status and said she could not comment on who was in charge at the hospital. Edward Mulcahy, chairman of the hospital’s board of directors, did not return calls seeking comment.
“We are unable to comment on personnel matters,” spokeswoman Lori Mazeika said.
Tenreiro previously was executive vice president and chief operating officer of General Health System in Baton Rouge, La.
He replaced Sister Margaret Wright, who in March stepped down as president and CEO after 35 years.
