Updated: February 17, 2014 7:26PM

MARKHAM — A person was shot across the street from a Markham roller rink in south suburban Hazel Crest Sunday night, according to a police dispatcher.

The shooting happened across the street from the Markham Roller Rink in the 16600 block of Dixie Highway about 7 p.m., according to the dispatcher.

Though the rink is in Markham, the shooting occurred in Hazel Crest, though police did not provide details on the shooting early Monday.

No police remained at the rink by 1 a.m. Monday.

Jerome Dugar, a DJ who was working at the rink under the name C-Man, said police showed up to the rink after a person was shot near the entrance.

Local dance act Dlow, known for “The Dlow Shuffle,” was having a party at the rink when the shooting occurred, Dugar said.
