Three people in a stolen car were arrested Friday after a police chase that started in Calumet City ended in a crash on the Bishop Ford Freeway, according to police.
About 2:30 p.m., Calumet City officers tried to stop the car, which was reported stolen in Chicago, but the driver took off, Assistant Police Chief Tom DiFiori said.
Police pursued the car through Dolton and onto the Bishop Ford Freeway, and it crashed into two Calumet City squad cars near 115th Street and three occupants were arrested, DiFiori said. He said a fourth person escaped on foot.
No one was injured in the crash, and charges against the three are pending, DiFiori said.
The crash briefly closed all southbound lanes of the expressway and all but one northbound lane at 115th Street, Illinois State Police said.
