If you’re not enamored with using a portable toilet along the route of the March 16 South Side Irish St. Patrick’s Day Parade, the folks at Beverly Covenant Church have an option for you.
The church, 10545 Claremont Ave., again will offer spectators use of its restrooms. The church also is offering snacks with warm or cold drinks, depending on the weather, and a place to hang out. And it’s all free of charge.
A pre-parade church service begins at 9 a.m. The church then will be open from 11 a.m. until about one hour after the parade, which starts at noon. The Rev. Donald Nelson said the church has been open during the parade for more than 15 years.
“It’s an opportunity for us to reach out to our neighbors and all who come from across the city to celebrate the day,” Nelson said in a statement.
