Visitation will be held Friday for James Morrissy, the longtime Oak Forest police officer who died after a two-car crash Monday while he was on duty.
The visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. at the Sheehy & Sons Funeral Home, 9000 W. 151st St., Orland Park, a funeral director there said Wednesday.
A police walk-through, where officers pay their respects to a fallen comrade, is planned for 6 p.m. Friday.
A funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
That will be followed by a funeral procession to Holy Sepulcher Cemetery starting around noon.
Morrissy died around 8 p.m. Monday, nearly six hours after his squad car was struck by another vehicle at 160th Street and Cicero Avenue Monday afternoon. He was responding to a call when his car was broadsided by the other car.
Morrissy, 62, was with the Oak Forest police for more than 30 years, and a longtime resident of Oak Forest.
