The manager of the Wendy’s restaurant in Oak Forest reported to police that 230 chicken and fish patties were stolen from the freezer Monday morning.
Police said the manager conducted an inventory at 8:30 a.m., and everything was intact. An hour later, she returned to find opened boxes without the food inside, according to police.
They said one employee was questioned at the Wendy’s, 4170 W. 167th St., but a search of his car found nothing.
The missing patties are valued at $280.
of prescription drug
A 23-year-old Oak Forest man told police he was attacked and robbed March 28 inside his room at the Terrace Motel shortly after filling a prescription for Xanax.
The man told police that he and a friend returned to the room at the motel, 15353 Cicero Ave., about 11 p.m., after picking up the medication at the Jewel-Osco at 171st Street and Harlem Avenue in Tinley Park.
The friend left after 15 minutes, and the victim went to bed, police said, but within an hour, he heard someone at the door and tinkering with the window.
Before he could get out of bed, two men forced their way inside, with one grabbing the victim by the neck and holding him down on the bed while the second man ransacked the room, according to police. They said the intruders stole the prescription bottle, the victim’s cellphone and $40 in cash.
