Child porn found in man’s home

Updated: May 21, 2014 6:33AM

A Tinley Park man has been charged with child pornography after authorities recovered numerous videos involving children on a computer in his home, according to Cook County prosecutors.

Felipe Macias, 53, was charged after an investigation by police and the state’s attorney’s Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, according to the state’s attorney’s office.

It said police discovered that he had been downloading child pornography through a peer-to-peer file-sharing program.

Macias was arrested Thursday after a search of his home discovered a laptop computer and external hard drive with numerous videos of child pornography, prosecutors said.

Macias’ bail was set Friday at $100,000. His next court hearing is set for May 14 at the county courthouse in Bridgeview.
