Three people were injured when a vehicle drove into a Merrionette Park tobacco shop Saturday afternoon.
The crash happened about 2:40 p.m. inside Tobacco City, 3281 W. 115th St.
The shop was open for business and several customers were inside the store at the time, according to a spokesman for the village of Merrionette Park.
The identities of the female driver and those who were hurt in the crash were not available Saturday afternoon. At least two of the injured were customers from inside the store.
Two people were taken to MetroSouth Medical Center in Blue Island while the third was taken to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn. The village’s spokesman, Tom Mannix, said the injuries appeared to be minor.
Mannix did not know if there was more than one person in the vehicle when the crash happened.
The Blue Island, Alsip and Garden Home fire departments assisted at the scene.
