Orland Park police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a man who ran off instead of paying his $80 cab fare last week.

The cab driver drove the man to the 9800 block of Cordoba Court about 6:40 a.m. on May 6, but the man said he didn’t have the money to pay his fare, police said.

He then ran off, and the cab driver followed, police said. During a brief struggle, the cab driver fell and broke his ankle.

Police describe the suspect as an 18- to 25-year-old white man with short blond hair, about 5-foot-6 to 5-10 and weighing 180 pounds. He was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and carrying a black backpack.

Anyone with information should call police at (708) 349-4111.
