A woman drove her sport utility vehicle through a 7-Eleven store Wednesday night in Palos Heights, but no one was injured, according to police.
Police responded to the store, 11900 Harlem Ave., after the woman’s vehicle accelerated into the store about 8:30 p.m., according to police Sgt. Jeff Crowley.
There was one employee and a customer inside the store at the time, Crowley said, adding that alcohol is not thought to be a factor.
“There’s a lot of foot traffic in that area. There’s an ice cream shop and quite a few people were out,” he said. “Luckily, no one was hurt.”
The store reopened Thursday morning.
