Oak Lawn police are looking for a man who stole $2,230 on June 10 from the TCF Bank branch in the Jewel-Osco store, 8801 Ridgeland Ave.
The robber approached a teller about 10:15 a.m., handed over a note reading “this is a bank robbery” and when the teller asked if he was serious, the man chuckled and said “yes,” police said.
They said the robber never implied he had a weapon. After getting the cash, the robber fled and the teller sounded an alarm, according to police.
The man was wearing a New York Knicks cap, a black pullover sweatshirt, light-colored blue jeans and white gym shoes, police said.
