A Lansing teen is charged with shooting a man on July 4 at an apartment building in the south suburb.
Officers were called to the 3600 block of 174th Court about 1 a.m. and found a 27-year-old man shot in an apartment building there, the village said in a release. They were told the shooter may have fled in a dark Chrysler.
Donald Johnson, 17, was arrested following an investigation by Lansing Police and the South Suburban Major Crimes Task Force, the village said. Johnson was found in the Chrysler and allegedly had the weapon used in the shooting.
Johnson has been charged as an adult with aggravated battery with a firearm and attempted murder, the village said. He appeared in court Monday, but court information was not immediately available.
The man underwent surgery and is expected to recover, the village said.
