A man charged after Harvey residents caught him masturbating in front of two girls was ordered held without bail Sunday.

Sometime on July 14, residents of the 15000 block of Loomis Avenue in Harvey told police they saw Guas Sweiss park his SUV in an alley, walk toward some bushes and begin to masturbate while looking at two girls, Harvey police said.

One of the girls noticed Sweiss, 35, and she and the other girl ran into a home, police said. Sweiss allegedly got back in his SUV and drove off.

Someone who witnessed the incident videotaped it. Officers got the SUV’s license number from the video and traced it to Sweiss on July 17, police said.

He wasn’t home at the time but agreed through his lawyer to turn himself in to Harvey police the next day, police said. When he didn’t show up, a warrant was issued for his arrest.

Chicago police arrested Sweiss on Saturday and turned him over to Harvey police. Details of the arrest were not provided.

Sweiss, of the 11000 block of 167th Place in Orland Park, is charged with felony public indecency. Police said he has been convicted multiple times of lewd exposure and weapons charges, which is why a felony charge was justified.

On Sunday, he was ordered held without bail, according to Cook County pheriff’s police. He is next scheduled to appear in court Tuesday.
