Harvey police Detective Jeffrey Crocker said Thursday that he has been placed on administrative leave after being arrested Saturday for allegedly attacking the boyfriend of his former girlfriend.
Crocker, 44, of Beecher, is charged with battery, domestic battery and assault in the incident at the woman’s residence in New Lenox. He is out on bond and was told by a Will County judge to not have any further contact with his alleged victims.
Crocker shares a child with his ex-girlfriend, and the child resides with her, according to court records.
The woman on Tuesday filed for an order of protection against Crocker, citing Saturday’s altercation.
In that petition, she alleges that Crocker attacked her boyfriend in her back yard, and she was injured while trying to help her boyfriend by pulling Crocker off him. She says in the filing that Crocker is jealous of her boyfriend.
The woman also obtained a protective order against Crocker in Will County in 2009, accusing him of making threatening phone calls to her and damaging her lawn.
Crocker’s next court date in connection with Saturday’s alleged attack is Friday.
