Updated: September 7, 2014 6:33AM

A 23-year-old Midlothian woman was attacked and robbed as she walked home from the Metra train station at Central Park and Abbottsford Road shortly after midnight on July 29, police said.

The woman told police she saw a man wearing a black ski mask and hooded sweatshirt walking behind two women at 146th Street and Abbottsford when the two women entered a home.

The man then turned around and began jogging toward the victim, who began running north on Abbotsford. The man broke into a sprint, tackled her and punched her in the back of the head four to five times before ripping her tote bag off her shoulder and running south, police said. The bag contained the victim’s wallet and personal papers.

The suspect was described as about 5-foot-9 and weighing 180 to 215 pounds.
