Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn has named Dr. Richard Scott as its chief medical officer, effective Sept. 2.
An orthopedic surgeon for 20 years, Scott is system senior vice president of clinical effectiveness at Meridian Health in Neptune, New Jersey. He also served as executive director of the Meridian Accountable Care Organization, with more than 870 physicians, according to a new release from Christ Medical Center.
The hospital’s president, Kenneth Lukhard, said in the release that Scott’s “expertise in advancing the critical partnership with our medical staff and leaders aligns well with our strategic focus” to achieve excellent health outcomes.
Lee Sacks, executive vice president and chief medical officer of Advocate Health Care, which operates Christ, said Scott is a “proven leader with diversified hospital and system leadership roles.”
Scott earned his medical degree from the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia in 1982. He and his wife, Leslie, have three children.
