Lockport man killed in Joliet crash

A Lockport motorist was killed early Thursday when the car he was driving crashed into a utility pole in Joliet.
The crash in the 1400 block of Illinois 59 happened about 3 a.m., Joliet police Lt. Robert Desierto said.
Gage W. Epley, 18, of Lockport, was pronounced dead on the scene at 3:44 a.m., the Will County Coroner’s office said.
Two people were in the southbound car when it left the road and struck a utility pole, Joliet police Lt. Jeff Allbert said. The car ultimately came to rest in a grassy area in front of an Auto Zone store.
The passenger was taken to Provena St. Joseph Medical Center in Joliet. No information was available about that crash victim’s condition.
Joliet police are investigating.
