Police investigating New Year’s death of Orland Park teen

Police are investigating the death of an Orland Park teenager who had been attending a New Year’s Eve party at a home in unincorporated Palos Township, police said.
Brooke Fry, 19, of the 8900 block of Patty Lane, was at a house party in the 8500 block of Hillcrest Drive when someone at the party placed a 911 call, police said.
Paramedics from the Orland Fire Protection District responded to the scene before police arrived at 11:30 p.m., police said. Fry was pronounced dead at Palos Community Hospital in Palos Heights at 12:18 a.m. Jan. 1.
The cause of death is pending toxicology reports, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office.
Police do not know if there were any adults at the party nor how many people were in attendance. Some partygoers left the scene when police arrived, police said.
