Chicago Heights, Steger police blotter

CHICAGO HEIGHTS

BURGLARY: Copper pipes were stolen Jan. 17 or 18 from a house in the 300 block of West 14th Place.

NO LICENSE: Hermilo P. Corona, 54, of Chicago, was charged with driving without a valid license and speeding after a Jan. 18 stop at Joe Orr Road and Emerald Avenue, police said.

SUSPENDED LICENSE: Tammy L. Pruitt, 33, 18121 Versailles Ave., Apt. 101, Hazel Crest, was charged with driving on a suspended license, no insurance and speeding after a stop Jan. 18 at 14th Street and Edgewood Avenue, police said.

POT POSSESSION: Leroy D. Washington, 20, 2284 Windsor, Country Club Hills, was charged with possession of marijuana, running a stoplight and no insurance after a Jan. 18 stop at 10th and Halsted streets, police said.

ARSON: A door was kicked in and a house was set on fire Jan. 19 in the 100 block of East 24th Street.

RETAIL THEFT: Beatrice Dykes, 47, 3511 Juniper, Apt. 305, Park Forest, was charged with retail theft and was arrested on a Glenwood warrant Jan. 19 at Country Squire Foods, 113 Joe Orr Road, police said.

SUSPENDED LICENSE: Larry A. Brantley, 36, 11 McKinley Ave., Steger, was charged with driving on a suspended license and not wearing a seat belt after being stopped Jan. 19 at 15th Street and Sunnyside Avenue, police said.

NO LICENSE: Alejandro Guzman, 26, 16209 Woodbridge, Harvey, was charged with driving without a valid license, no insurance and improper lane use after a stop Jan. 19 at 14th Street and Chicago Road, police said.

BROKEN WINDOW: A rock was thrown through a window Jan. 19 at a house in the 1200 block of Peggy Lane.

DOMESTIC ASSAULT: Alyssa McChristian, 23, 148 W. 14th St., Apt. 3W, Chicago Heights, was charged with domestic assault after a Jan. 19 incident at her home, police said.

DUI CHARGE: Georgy A. Herring, 43, of Cairo, Ill., was charged with driving under the influence of drugs and alcohol, driving on a suspended license, illegal transportation of alcohol, improper lane use and having only one red taillight after a Jan. 19 stop at 26th and Ash streets, police said.

SUSPENDED LICENSE: Anissa F. Reynolds, 42, 367 Oswego St., Park Forest, was charged with driving on a suspended license and improper lane use Jan. 20 after a stop at 15th and Hanover streets, police said.

PURLOINED PURSE: A purse was stolen Jan. 20 from an unlocked vehicle in the garage at St. James Hospital, 1423 Chicago Road, police said.

RETAIL THEFT: Pamela D. Davis, 38, 16 Olympic Village, Apt. 1D, Chicago Heights, was charged with retail theft after stealing about $117 in steaks Jan. 20 from Food 4 Less, 1333 Western Ave., police said.

HOME BURGLARY: Copper pipes were stolen Jan. 20 from a house in the 300 block of West 14th Place.

SUSPENDED LICENSE: David Q. Brimley, 27, 1301 Center Ave., Chicago Heights, was charged with driving on a suspended license, improper parking in the roadway and failure to yield to an emergency vehicle after a Jan. 20 stop at 13th Street and Center Avenue, police said.

NO LICENSE: Bernardo Apaez-Contreras, 53, 225 E. 22nd St., Chicago Heights, was charged with driving without a valid license, no insurance and failure to yield to an emergency vehicle after he was stopped Jan. 20 at Dixie Highway and Joe Orr Road, police said.

BURGLARY: Copper pipes were discovered stolen Jan. 21 from a house in the 300 block of Ashland Avenue, police said.

DAMAGED DOOR: A rear door was kicked in Jan. 21 or 22 at a house in the 1600 block of Buena Vista Avenue.

DUI ARREST: Manuel Martinez, 40, 17871 Rose, Lansing, was charged with driving under the influence of drugs and running a stop sign after a Jan. 22 stop at 15th Street and Shields Avenue, police said.

STEGER

HOME BURGLARY: Carlton N. Zimmerman, 17, 3022 Halsted St., Steger, was charged with residential burglary and a 16-year-old boy from Steger was charged with residential burglary and criminal damage to property after they broke down a door and entered a house in the 3100 block of Halsted Street on Jan. 17, police said.

SUSPENDED LICENSE: Ennis D. Booker, 42, 2938 Western Ave., Park Forest, was charged with driving on a suspended license, no insurance and no front license plate after a Jan. 18 stop in the 3400 block of Carpenter Street, police said.

FAKE CASH: Counterfeit money was passed Jan. 19 at Marathon, 3400 Chicago Road.

DRUG CHARGES: Charles A. Evans, 32, 14101 School St., Riverdale, was charged with possession of heroin and marijuana and speeding after a Jan. 22 stop at 33rd Place and Chicago Road, police said.
