Teens robbed at gunpoint in Oak Forest

Updated: May 4, 2012 8:09AM

A teenage couple were robbed at gunpoint Sunday night in Oak Forest, police said.

An 18-year-old boy and 17-year-old girl were sitting in a parked car at 149th Street and Laramie Avenue when two men approached about 9 p.m., Oak Forest police Sgt. Alexander Curlee said Monday.

“It was a ruse type of thing. ‘Do you have a light?’ Something to that effect. They then said, ‘This is a robbery’ and robbed them at gunpoint,” Curlee said.

Wallets and cell phones were stolen, Curlee said, and the men fled on foot.

“One of them lost a shoe,” Curlee said.

The boy and girl were not injured, Curlee said.
