Flossmoor, Homewood police blotter

FLOSSMOOR

POT POSSESSION: Volcue Saucier, 18, 2612 Central Drive, Unit 2R, Flossmoor, was charged with possession of marijuana, resisting arrest and being in a park after dark after he was found smoking the drug May 12 at Leavitt Park, Central Drive and Leavitt Avenue, police said.

THEFT: A wheel and tire were discovered stolen May 14 from a vehicle in the 1800 block of Hanover Lane.

BATTERY: Deshawn L. Washington, 22, 1019 Brassie Ave., Flossmoor, was charged with battery after a May 15 incident at Flossmoor Park, 2523 Flossmoor Road, police said.

THEFT: A riding lawn mower was discovered stolen May 16 from a yard in the 1600 block of Princeton Road.

VEHICLE BURGLARY: A wallet was stolen May 16 from an unlocked vehicle at the Flossmoor Library, 1000 Sterling Ave.

MUGGING: A Hazel Crest teen was attacked May 16 at Central Park Avenue and Beech Street by two older teens who stole his iPhone and then fled in a vehicle.

DOMESTIC BATTERY: Javelle Bagwell, 29, 17520 Country Club Drive, Country Club Hills, was charged with domestic battery after a May 17 altercation at Governors Highway and Heather Hill Crescent, police said.

POT POSSESSION: James D. Honey, 18, 6823 Hickory St., Tinley Park, was charged with possession of marijuana, driving on a suspended license, no insurance and not wearing a seat belt after a stop May 17 at Vollmer Road and Crawford Avenue, police said.

HOMEWOOD

THEFT: A bicycle was stolen May 6 from an open garage in the 18400 block of Gottschalk Avenue.

HEROIN CHARGE: Antonio Mordican, 41, of Bellwood, was charged with possession of heroin, driving on a suspended license, no insurance and resisting arrest and was arrested on Champaign and Cook county warrants after a stop May 7 at Halsted Street and Maple Road, police said.

DUI ARREST: John Barnett, 48, 2620 Gordon Ave., Flossmoor, was charged with drunken driving after a May 7 incident at 183rd Street and Governors Highway, police said.

THEFT: Hubcaps were stolen May 7 from a vehicle in the 1500 block of 175th Street.

RETAIL THEFT: Khadejah Simon, 18, 14318 Wallace St., Riverdale, was charged with retail theft after stealing about $123 worth of clothing May 9 from Kmart, 17550 Halsted St., police said.

BROKEN WINDOW: A window was broken May 10 on a house in the 18600 block of Lexington Street.

RUSE BURGLARY: A man claiming to be a landscaping worker entered a house in the 18400 block of Hood Avenue on May 11 and stole cash while distracting a resident with talk of landscaping work.

PROPERTY DAMAGE: Daniel Sulek, 23, 1717 187th St., and Michael Davlantis, 23, 1035 186th St., both of Homewood, were charged with damaging government property after they drove a truck onto football and baseball fields May 13 and damaged them by doing “doughnuts,” police said. They said Sulek was also charged with criminal damage to property after he flattened four tires and broke five windows on a vehicle the same day in the 18400 block of Hood Avenue.

VEHICLE BURGLARY: A phone, cash, flashlight and other items were stolen May 13 or 14 from an unlocked vehicle in the 18000 block of Harwood Avenue.

BROKEN WINDOW: A window was broken May 14 or 15 at a building at Izaak Walton Preserve, 1100 Ridge Road.

HOME BURGLARY: A computer, CD player, video camera and other electronic items were stolen May 16 from a house in the 2700 block of Chayes Court.

THEFT: A catalytic converter was stolen May 16 from a vehicle at Kmart, 17550 Halsted St.

LIGHTS DAMAGED: Landscaping lights were damaged May 16 in a lot in the 18800 block of Dixie Highway.
