Country Club Hills, Homewood police blotter

COUNTRY CLUB HILLS

THEFT: A Country Club Hills woman told police she believed a guest at a May 11 Mother’s Day party she hosted stole a gold necklace, two rings and a laptop computer from her home in the 100 block of Williamsburg Road, police said.

MARIJUANA CHARGE: Tierre McKnight, 17, 16912 Sunset Ridge Drive, Country Club Hills, was charged May 15 with possession of marijuana after being stopped at 169th Street and Old Elm Drive, police said.

DOMESTIC BATTERY: Brian Pridgeon, 23, 9030 S. Racine, Chicago, was charged with domestic battery after a May 15 incident in the 3700 block of 171st Street, police said.

BURGLARY: A Country Club Hills man told police he found a man dressed in a black ninja mask and black clothing stealing $30 on May 17 from his mother’s car in her garage in the 19200 block of Elm Drive, police said. The burglar pushed the man down and fled.

DOMESTIC BATTERY: Mercedes Shelton, 21, 17731 Devon Drive, Country Club Hills, was charged with domestic battery after a May 18 altercation at Highland Place and Devon Drive, police said. They said Michael Lee, 24, 3941 W. 178th Place, Country Club Hills, was charged with harassment by texting.

HOME BURGLARY: A bedroom was ransacked and $30 stolen May 18 from a house in the 4600 block of Flossmoor Road.

PROPERTY DAMAGE: Felicia Blunt, 20, 17805 Ridgewood Drive, Hazel Crest, was charged with criminal damage to property after jumping on the hood of a car and kicking its doors during a May 18 domestic dispute in the 3500 block of School Drive, police said.

HOMEWOOD

HOME BURGLARY: A computer, CD player, video camera and other electronic items were stolen May 16 from a house in the 2700 block of Chayes Court.

THEFT: A catalytic converter was stolen May 16 from a vehicle at Kmart, 17550 Halsted St.

THEFT: Norris D. Brown, 24, of Hammond, was charged with theft after he stole a sink May 17 from a back yard in the 18400 block of Martin Avenue, police said.

BROKEN WINDOW: A window was broken May 19 at a house in the 18700 block of Center Avenue.

MAIL THEFT: Mail was stolen May 19 from a home’s mailbox in the 18100 block of Los Angeles Avenue.

COCAINE CHARGE: Matthew Miller, 30, of Chicago, was charged with possession of cocaine, running a stoplight and no insurance after a stop May 20 at 187th Street and Center Avenue, police said.

THEFT: McKinley Morris, 27, 17715 Stonebridge, Hazel Crest, was charged with theft, deceptive practice, driving on a revoked license and no insurance after he used a stolen credit card to purchase gas May 20 at 7-Eleven, 3154 183rd St., police said.

DOMESTIC BATTERY: Jamie Vinci, 38, 1828 183rd St., Homewood, was charged with domestic battery and violating an order of protection after a May 20 incident at his home, police said.

ROBBERY: Constance Sutton, 47, 18028 Marlin St., Homewood, was charged with robbery and leaving the scene of an accident after she punched a woman and stole her phone after getting in an accident May 22 at Governors Highway and 175th Street, police said.

ASSAULT: John E. Phillips, 32, 842 Campus, Matteson, was charged with assault after a May 23 incident at Shell, 17951 Halsted St., police said.

VEHICLE BURGLARY: A vehicle was ransacked May 23 in the 18100 block of Ashland Avenue.

BROKEN WINDOW: A window was broken May 24 at a building in the 2400 block of 183rd Street.

DAMAGED DOOR: A door handle was damaged May 24 at a house in the 18900 block of Loomis Avenue.

RETAIL THEFT: Mark Bucek, 61, 17814 Ashland Ave., Homewood, was charged with retail theft after stealing about $100 in hanging plants May 24 from Walt’s Foods, 2345 183rd St., police said.

VEHICLE BURGLARY: An iPod was stolen May 24 from a vehicle in the 1500 block of Linden Road.
