New Lenox, Will County police blotter

NEW LENOX

VEHICLE KEYED: A vehicle was scratched May 25 in the 2200 block of Jackson Branch Drive.

VEHICLES VANDALIZED: Four vehicles were damaged with spray paint May 26 in the 700 block of Cooper Street.

VEHICLE BURGLARY: A DVD player and $400 in gift cards were stolen from an unlocked vehicle May 26 in the 300 block of Stonegate Road.

SUSPENDED LICENSE: Ashley Johnson, 22, 217 Manor Drive, New Lenox, was charged with driving on a suspended license and using a cell phone in a construction zone after a stop May 26 at U.S. 30 and Schoolhouse Road, police said.

KEYS STOLEN: Keys were stolen from an unlocked vehicle May 26 in the 600 block of Stonegate Road.

DRUG POSSESSION: Bradley Bruno, 23, 713 Misty Creek Drive, New Lenox, was charged with possession of a controlled substance and drug equipment and improper lane use, and his passenger, Kristopher Cortese, 23, 617 Southgate Road, New Lenox, was arrested on warrants from Will and Kankakee counties after a May 26 stop at Illinois Highway and Southgate Road, police said.

TRESPASSING: Richard Nosek, 27, of Chicago, was charged with criminal trespass after he allegedly entered a residence without permission May 27 in the 1100 block of North Cedar Road, police said.

VANDALISM: A vehicle was spray painted May 28 in the 1000 block of Schoolgate Road.

WARRANT ARREST: Matthew Fields, 26, 13348 Francis Road, New Lenox, was arrested on a Will County warrant for failure to appear after being stopped May 28 at U.S. 30 and Church Street, police said.

TOOLS STOLEN: About $3,000 in various tools were stolen from a work truck May 30 in the 700 block of Ridgefield Road.

DUI ARREST: Robert Edyburn, 33, of Berwyn, was charged with drunken driving and improper lane use after he was stopped May 30 in the 300 block of Heartland Drive, police said.

TOOLS THEFT: Tools valued at $700 were stolen from a work van May 30 in the 300 block of Wildwood Drive.

GARAGE BURGLARY: An air compressor was stolen from an open garage May 30 in the 700 block of Central Road.

DUI CHARGE: William Quackenbush, 46, 219 Pacific, Frankfort, was charged with drunken driving, possession of marijuana and disobeying a traffic signal after a stop May 30 at Laraway Road and Calistoga Drive, police said.

DRUG CHARGES: Charles Melvin, 34, of Joliet, was charged with possession of a controlled substance, marijuana and drug equipment after a May 30 stop in the 1000 block of Laraway Road, police said.

WILL COUNTY

TOOLS STOLEN: Chain saws, tools and rope were stolen from a storage shed May 23 at a landscaping business in the 13200 block of Maple Road, Frankfort Township.

GARAGE BURGLARY: A bag of baseball equipment was stolen from an attached garage May 24 in the 7400 block of James Street, Frankfort Township.

COPPER STOLEN: Two copper buss bars were stolen from a cell tower building May 25 in the 21400 block of Spencer Road, New Lenox Township.

NO LICENSE: Jose Rogel, 36, of Chicago, was charged with driving without a valid license and speeding after a stop May 26 at Harlem Avenue and North Street, Frankfort Township, police said.

TOOLS STOLEN: Power tools valued at $13,000 were stolen from an unlocked vehicle May 26 in the 8300 block of Hill Avenue, Frankfort Township.

CRASH CHARGES: Lance Hosman, 19, 220 Elm, Frankfort, was charged with texting while driving and driving too fast for conditions after he lost control of his vehicle, entered a ditch, flipped the vehicle and struck a utility pole May 28 in the 17000 block of Haas Road, New Lenox Township, police said. He was taken to Silver Cross Hospital with nonlife-threatening injuries.
