Man fatally shot on Far South Side

A man was fatally shot Wednesday afternoon on the Far South Side.
The man -- identified by the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office as 33-year-old Gueteris Thomas of the 13300 block of South Riverdale Avenue -- was shot in the chest about 3:40 p.m. in the 13000 block of South Drexel Avenue, police News Affairs Officer Darryl Baety said.
Police said he was initially taken in serious condition to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn.
Area South detectives are investigating.
