The Lincoln Oasis on the Tri-State Tollway reopened about 10 a.m. Friday following an early morning armed robbery.
A man brandishing a handgun robbed the McDonald’s restaurant at 2:30 a.m. and fled with an unknown amount of cash, Illinois State Police Sgt. Tim Moore said.
The restaurant remained closed Friday.
No shots were fired and no injuries were reported, he said.
“Usually there is not much going on there at that time,” Moore said. “McDonald’s was the only business open.”
The armed robbery did not impact traffic on the highway, which remained open throughout the investigation.
