Markham man shot dead on Chicago’s SW Side

A Markham man was shot dead late Monday night in the Southwest Side Marquette Park neighborhood, police said.

The 20-year-old man suffered several gunshot wounds to the chest, head and arm about 11 p.m. in the 6300 block of South Rockwell Street, police said.

He was identified as Davonte Slennoy of the 3000 block of Nottingham Avenue in Markham and was dead at the scene, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office.

No one is in custody. Area Central detectives are investigating.
