Man dies after double hit-and-run in Bridgeview

Bridgeview police are investigating a fatal hit-and-run in which a man was hit by two vehicles.
Rafal Lesniak, 35, of the 7700 block of West 81st Street in Bridgeview, died after he was struck near 81st Street and Roberts Road at about 2:43 a.m. Sunday, police said in a news release.
Initial reports indicate Lesniak was walking west across Roberts Road and was in the southbound lanes when he was hit by a white car, possibly a Dodge Intrepid, police said. Moments later, a second vehicle described as a maroon Hyundai Sonata ran over Lesniak, police said.
Lesniak was taken to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where he was pronounced dead, police said.
The South Suburban Major Accident Reconstruction Team is working with Bridgeview police on the investigation.
