A Manhattan man is free on bond on charges he tried to bring a handgun onto a plane at Midway Airport last week.
About 9:40 a.m. Friday, Matthew Bysina, 23, had a handgun in his bag as he went through security at Midway, Chicago police said.
Bysina, of the 200 block of South Woodrow St., told officers he forgot the gun was in the bag, police said.
He was charged with one count of boarding an aircraft with a weapon, police said.
In court Saturday, Judge Edward Harmening set his bail at $20,000. He has since posted the $2,000 bond necessary to be released.
He’s set to return to court on Friday.
